IT’S HAPPENING — OUR NEW MUGA IS COMING!

Work begins 12th October 2026

After a huge fundraising effort, we’re delighted to confirm that work on the new MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) at Long Riston Playing Fields will begin on 12th October.

More than £65,000 has been secured to make this project happen — a fantastic investment in our village and its facilities.

And what does that investment mean?

A brand-new all-weather sports facility

New basketball facilities

A much-improved space for Riston Primary School and the wider community

Somewhere for our children and young people to play and be active

A modern facility for sport, exercise and recreation

An investment that will benefit our community for many years to come

None of this happens without funding and support.

Whether you donate, support one of our fundraisers, buy a lottery ticket, volunteer your time, like or share one of our posts, promote what the PFC is doing, or simply tell somebody about the work happening at the Playing Fields — it all helps.

Every bit of support helps us raise funds, attract further investment and, most importantly, deliver better facilities back to our community.

For a small village, securing more than £65,000 for a single community project is something we can all celebrate.

A quick heads-up: the MUGA will need to close while the replacement work is carried out. We’ll keep the closure as short as we possibly can and keep everyone updated as the work progresses.

A little disruption for what should be a fantastic new facility for the whole community.
